ABORIGINAL AND TORRES STRAIT ISLANDER VIEWERS ARE ADVISED THAT THIS DESCRIPTION CONTAINS THE NAMES OF PEOPLE WHO HAVE PASSED AWAY.

The tarot card Judgement refers to the divine judgement on the day of reckoning. My version of judgement represents how we as white Australians must face judgement for our crimes against the First Nations People of this country. The names and stories of people who wrongfuly died in custody or at the hands of police and written across the angel's wings. He plays a Yidaki (known by most as a digeridoo) instead of a trumpet and the Aboriginal flag is flown upside down as a sign of mourning, similar to flying a flag at half mast. The dolls pay homage to the work of K'ua K'ua and Erub/Mer artist Destiny Deacon, and their clothes are a copy of the appropriative artwork of an English artist. The word 'sorry' is displayed against a barely visible background of missing First Nations People. 100% of profits from this artwork go to the Pay the Rent project, which puts funds directly into the hands of First Nations People.
